While we are constantly inspired by all of our charities, this week we are feeling particularly touched by the Village of Hope Uganda. For those of you unfamiliar with Village of Hope, they are one of our life partners here at Philanthropy. What do we mean by life partners, exactly? Well, for us, a life partner is a charity with which we feel called to be a part of as long as we are a part of His gracious world – they are the charities we will work with every year and constantly support.
We have to be honest, some days it feels like Village of hope is supporting us. We read their newsletters and are filled to the brim each time with love, joy, and pure astonishment at everything they have been able to do for their kids.
Village of Hope is a project completely dedicated to the relocation of orphaned children who have been living on their own in what had been called IDP camps. The children’s homes, or “the village” as it’s so fondly called, encompasses 100 (safe) acres away from war torn areas.
The goal of Village of Hope Uganda is to create a home for every single child. This HUGE undertaking is something we are all on board with (for life!) knowing that through God’s grace and unending love WILL happen.
We have been supporting Village of Hope for several years by selling paper beads made by orphans and missionaries at Village of Hope. We are happy to share that 100% of the sale of these pieces is going back to Village of Hope. If you feel called to their project, we highly recommend stopping by their website. Opportunities are available to sponsor a child as well as to help donate towards specific projects and needs within The Village. If you would like to purchase some paper beads of your own, they are available for purchase on our website!
