We have been partnering with Village of Hope for a few years now. We think that what they’re doing in and around Gulu, Uganda is extremely important, and we are happy to continue helping them in their mission. Village of Hope Uganda seeks to heal and empower children who have been rescued from being child soldiers in the LRA. They would prefer not to focus on the fact that these kids were once child soldiers – that does not define them – but rather that they are kids, just like any others, who need love, attention and a great deal of care. In their own words: “VOH focuses on the “cure” for the wounds; through our time, love, and hope in the grace of God to bring healing to the hundreds of orphans affected by the brutal attacks of Joseph Kony and his army by the name of the “Lord’s Resistance Army.”
