The Moffitt Family

Adam and Jennifer, along with their two children Emelyn and Elliot, have called Central Florida home, their entire lives. Originally from the Tampa Bay area and after living in Ocala for 13 years, they moved to Winter Garden in 2011.

While on her annual girl’s trip in 2015, Jennifer and her girlfriends wandered into a Philanthropy store and were immediately captivated. From the moment she walked in, Jennifer could tell that there was something different, something very special about this store called Philanthropy. The presence of the Lord was strongly present in the store and she knew that there was more to this store than a shopping experience. Surprisingly, she couldn’t shake the desire to have women in her area experience retail shopping like this.

Over the next few months, Jennifer, Adam and Christina (Philanthropy’s Founder) prayed and emailed and talked and prayed some more about what it would look like to open a store in the Orlando area. After months of prayer, miles of driving, and hours of looking, the Lord led them to the perfect location in a Feed Store in Historic Downtown Winter Garden.

The location, a building built in 1910, needed major renovation. From new storefront windows to a new roof and everything in between, it is a complete restoration. A building in need of redemption. The building has served as a reminder of the restoration redeemed for us through the sacrifice of Jesus. Every time someone walks through those newly restored doors, the prayer is that they too will experience the fresh breath of restoration offered through the redeeming blood of Jesus.

Adam and Jennifer’s greatest desires with opening this store are to Glorify God, Magnify Jesus, and through His Spirit demonstrate the love of God to their community. They plan to work with local, national, and global charities to fulfill Philanthropy’s vision of generosity.

Living generously means more than writing a check. It is intentionally living a life of generosity, serving others, loving others, and yes giving to others. Locally, they plan to work with ministries serving young adults who have ‘aged out’ of foster care. Nationally, through a partnership with Philanthropy Ministries. Global generosity will be with ministry partners across the globe serving to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Moffitt family is humbled to be a tiny part in what God is doing through Philanthropy. They are preparing with great expectation to see Him do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine!

Philanthropy is the recognized leader in cause-driven retailing. We curate and design our apparel, home and gift products with purpose, passion, style and quality offering our customers a unique platform for giving through our commitment to give a minimum of 10% of every sale to charity through local, national and global opportunities.  The cornerstone of every Philanthropy store is the Prayer chapel. Our stores, our brand, our message is all centered around the idea of prayer.  Prayers of thanksgiving, prayers for healing, prayers of hope, prayers of despair, loss and pain, prayers to the God of heaven who hears our prayers.  We have hope not in the answer to prayers, but in the one who answers them, in His time and His way.  It is because of this hope, that we in turn share the love of Christ with others.  We continually strive to be a generous expression of the heart of God in all we do as a company.

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

1 John 3:17-18

How Can We Pray for You?

We believe in prayer. It is the most powerful and greatest gift you can give someone. In our stores we built a prayer wall for those who need prayer to write them down. We encourage you to do the same here.
