Philanthropy opened in June of 2007 with the belief that a business built around charitable works and grounded in Christ could make a difference in the world.
We opened as a platform for our customers to make a difference. By carrying a variety of fashion forward clothes and accessories that are perfect for the modern woman, we strive to keep our customers consciously and compassionately stylish. We are a Christian, locally owned and operated – one of a kind shopping experience that focuses on the power of prayer in our everyday walk with our customers.
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:17-18
Through the years Philanthropy has grown into 3 locations (2 more locations coming in 2017) and has developed lasting relationships with non-profits throughout the United States, The Caribbean Islands, and East Africa. The store(s) have been able to donate nearly $650,000 since the flagships opening in 2007 – no small feat for locally owned boutique(s). But Christina (Philanthropy’s founder) prefers the spotlight to shine on someone else – in her own words “I want people to see that we’re genuine and that Jesus Christ is reflected through us. We don’t take credit for any of this…it’s about God and His plan.” Christina uses this verse as a guideline for each step the store takes in choosing non-profits and charitable organizations to work with: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” -James 1:27
